Stafford Loans At Lone Star College-Montgomery
Follow the steps below to request a student loan at LSC-Montgomery:
1. Fill out the
FAFSA (Free Application For Federal Student Aid).
3. Attend a loan entrance session if you are a first time loan application with LSC–Montgomery. To reserve a seat, please register for your loan entrance session by completing the
reservation form.
4. You will receive a loan application at the loan entrance session. You may also pick up a loan application in the financial aid office if you have already attended a loan entrance session with us.
5. Please submit your loan application to the financial aid office. We will be able to process your loan application once your financial application has been processed and you have been awarded or determined not eligible for grants.
6. Once your loan has been awarded, you will be able to view your loan amounts in addition to any grant amounts using MyRecords on the LSC–Montgomery web page.
MyRecords 7. Once the school has certified your loan, you need to go online to complete the application process. You will receive an email from the financial aid office to alert you to when you can go online to
Loans By Web to complete the application. You must complete the application process and sign the document with your lender. Several lenders offer an e-signature option which will expedite your application process.
8. Loans pay your tuition! All loan awards that are in an "Accepted" status on your student account prior to payment date will cover the payment due to the business office. Loan funds do not actually arrive until after the 30th class date. At the time the funds come in, any balance due to the business office will be paid and the remainder sent to you via debit card or paper check (an option you chose when you requested the loan).
