GED Preparation
Overview
Lone Star College–Montgomery offers high school equivalency preparation and exam programs. The GED Review course is offered in both English and Spanish. Currently, GED Prep is offered at the Lone Star College–Montgomery Lone Star College–Conroe Center (102 Longview St.), just east of downtown Conroe off Hwy 105.
Costs
Tuition is $85 and the book is $20. The GED Full Test ($80) and Partial Test ($30) is offered in English (monthly) and Spanish (every other month).

GED Test Requirements
- Minimum Test Score on TABE A or D (Reading-567, Math-566, Language-560) or
- Minimum Test Score on GED Official Practice Test - 460 or
- Minimum Test Score on ASVAB Test - 50 AFQT
16 years old
- Valid Texas Id,Texas Driver's License or Government Issue ID
- Social Security Card (optional)
- Withdrawal form from high school
- Parental consent form (parent must accompany student for registration)

Texas Education Agency (TEA) regulations as of January 2007 state that any student wishing to take the GED test must first take either the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) or the Official Practice Test for the GED (OPT), or the ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) and meet certain criteria. Depending on which county you reside in, this may apply to you.
