McCabe Bridge

McCabe Bridge Program

Program Overview

The Bridge Partnership is a national program of selected high schools and community colleges that partner to increase the number of students who aspire to go on to college, to accelerate their preparation for college-level work and smooth the transition to college entry and success. Tenth grade students are recruited to take one of the standard college readiness exams. Lone Star College System advising staff meets with high school staff, parents and the student to review assessment results and advise steps to ensure college readiness at graduation. All McCabe Bridge students are invited to tour the college campus and receive college ID cards, which entitle them to use Lone Star College System tutoring and learning resources as well as the college's library. Students receive on-going advising on financial aid, learning strategies, college and career selection, etc, through the 11th and 12th grades.
