This session from 9:30-4, Want a fast track to becoming a Digital Native? Join the folks from Apple for a hands-on introduction to the many components of iLife – iPhoto, iMovie, iDVD, GarageBand, and iWeb. During this all day session you will create projects with your colleagues and get a sense of just how easy it is to go digital in your classroom or at home! Developmental Planning


This session focuses on a management tool which helps supervisors communicate expectations of the position responsibilities as well as goals and objectives of the department and the college. The DPP helps the employee communicate their understanding of the expectations, how they are learning the position responsibilities; the outcome of training and application, position responsibilities, goals, objectives and projects. Supervisor and employee participate in a feedback session on “what worked well”, “any areas of concern” and “what would be done differently to get a better result.” Participants will learn how to complete a DPP.

FERPA for Faculty

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (also known as the Buckley Amendment) is a federal law which provides that colleges will maintain the confidentiality of student education records. This workshop addresses operational issues to responding to information requests within the guidelines of FERPA law. Participants will be able to appropriately protect student identification when posting grades, learn their responsibilities as a college employee for keeping student records confidential, devise strategies for resolving potential conflicts (ex. parent-instructor). Participants will discuss how FERPA affects all departments in the college.
