What if you have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and really want to be a CPA?
The Texas State Board of Public Accountancy (TSBPA) awarded Lone Star College System (Lone Star College System) the designation to offer “Qualifying Educational Credit for the CPA Examination.” Eleven of the Lone Star College System accounting courses meet the TSBPA’S definition of upper-division accounting courses required to take the CPA exam.
What does this mean for you?
This designation allows individuals who have already earned a baccalaureate or higher degree from a recognized educational institution to gain the thirty (30) advanced accounting hours required to qualify for the CPA exam. The individual should be under the Advanced Technical Degree for Qualifying for the CPA exam (Pending Approval) and take no less than 24 semester hours of accounting from Lone Star College System toward meeting the 30 semester hours. You can now take all thirty (30) hours of advanced accounting courses for the CPA exam at Lone Star College System.
