Math Tutoring

Math tutoring is offered at the Extended Learning Center generally during normal operating hours.

Students and community users are welcome to take advantage of free drop-in sessions to work with a math tutor on Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus, and other math subjects.  These are not one-on-one sessions, but rather an opportunity to receive tutor input in a collaborative environment where the tutors on duty float between students needing assistance.  One-on-one appointments are available on a limited basis for current Lone Star College System students only.  One-hour Study Groups for any content area can be requested for a group of five or more students on a weekly basis or for a single topic as needed.

Our tutors are committed to assisting students and community members (high school age and above) in homework, study skills and other areas, such as calculator basics (graphing, plotting, analyzing data, etc.) and placement test (THEA, Compass, Asset) preparation.

Call the Math Tutor Desk (936-271-6113) for:

  • hours of specialized tutors (i.e. Statistics, Cal II or above, Foundations of Math for Educators)
  • appointment times and procedures
  • study group information
