Mari Omori Intersections: Asia/America
Intersections: Asia/America features nine artists from Asia, including the countries of Korea, India, Japan, Pakistan, the Philippines, and Vietnam. Their Texas homes are as diverse in location as their national heritage and include Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, and Spring. Stylistically, they work in ceramics, installation art, mixed media work, painting, photography and sculpture.

Opening reception for Michael Roque Collins. Mr. Collins has received numerous local, national and international awards and recognition for his paintings. His one-person exhibitions have been featured across the U.S. and internationally, including the LewAllen Contemporary in Santa Fe, N.M., the Virginia Miller Gallery in Coral Gables, FL, the Flamboyant Gallery in New Orleans, and the Bacardi Museum in Santiago, Cuba. Collins' work has also been regularly seen in Houston-area galleries such as the C.G. Jung Center, McMurtrey Gallery, and the University of St. Thomas Gallery. Liminal Moment

Susie K. Harrison named the exhibit Liminal Moment to express a valuable time, “Liminal is a term describing a pause in time between the familiar present and a future change. Standing at a threshold of transition, one often struggles to relate to the unfolding process. There may be the realization that previous boundaries are no longer are relevant.” She chose this term and style based on her personal reflections. “An increasing busy pace in my life created my own desire to honor silence. Practicing mental silence and physical stillness opened time to rest, heal and learn. Adverse events in this period of my life became portals to creative growth.”
