Biography:
David has served Lone Star College–Montgomery as an Adjunct Professor of Music since 2004. He has taught a variety of courses that include Popular Songwriting, Electronic Music, Music Fundamentals and Music Appreciation. Additionally, David served as Music Director/ Keyboard Artist for Lone Star College–Montgomery’s presentation of Jesus Christ Superstar in the Spring of 2005.
David is The Director of Music Ministries at The First United Methodist Church of Madisonville where he oversees a fully graded children’s music program, adult choir, handbell choir, jazz band and choral ensemble. David recently helped this church to launch a new contemporary service called “The Well” with music provided by jazz band and singers. Both traditional and contemporary worship services are broadcast live on Cable TV, Channel 4 in the Madisonville-Bryan area. David has also served at First Methodist Church of Houston and First Methodist of Conroe.
David enjoys composing contemporary Christian music. He has worked with several praise bands and performing artists that include Michael W. Smith, Bryan Lenox, DC Talk, Mark Pogue, Billy Sprague, and others. David’s published works include “See The Light” a solo project with Nashville artists and “Worship” featuring David and the SpiritWind Praise Band from Houston.
David has performed with several local jazz bands and dance bands, most notably, The Bill Black Ensemble and The Charlie Cash Band. David still enjoys the opportunity to perform in local venues including Pappadeaux’s, Hyden’s, Giovanni’s, The Woodlands Resort Center, The Walden Yacht Club, and The Bentwater Yacht Club. David also leads the DJ Mac dance band playing at corporate events and wedding receptions.
David resides in Willis, Texas with his lovely wife Lolly, daughter Laura, and two sons, D.J. and Michael. He also serves on staff with the choral music department at Willis High School accompanying choirs on organ, piano and electronic keyboards for concerts, pop shows and UIL events.
David is available for private instruction in organ and piano and offers professional 24 track digital recording and midi computer services for singers and instrumental groups at his studio in Willis.
