Rules

Volleyball Rules include but are not limited to the following:

1. Two teams of 6 players each shall play the game. A team may play with 5 players.
2. Forfeit time is 5 minutes after scheduled game time.
3. Matches will be best 2 out of 3 games of rally scoring.
4. Games are to 25 points win by 2 (30 point cap), last game to 15 points (17 point cap).
5. Unlimited substitutions are allowed, as long as a player re-enters the game in the original service order.
6. Two time outs per game; one minute in duration.
7. A served ball may be bumped, or set (legal hit).
8. No let serves.
9. Players cannot touch the net or crossover the center line.
10. No blocking or attacking a served ball.
11. When ball hits a basketball goal or any attachments, a dead ball will be declared. Sideout or point will be awarded.
12. No jewelry; except medical alert bracelets, and religious jewelry as long as it is taped to the skin.
13. No profanity.
14. Zero tolerance for unsportsmanlike conduct.
15. Equipment or clothing that is dangerous or distracting is not allowed.

Game balls will be provided by the Intramural Sports office.
