Goodall Named Lone Star College Vice Chancellor for Student Success

Donetta Poole Goodall has recently been named Lone Star College System vice chancellor for student success.

Most recently Goodall served as vice president for academic transfer and general & developmental education at Austin Community College beginning in 2005. In this capacity, she provided leadership for all academic, university- parallel programs, and developmental education.

Goodall held a variety of other positions with ACC since 1997, including associate vice president of academic transfer and general & developmental education; interim executive vice president, executive assistant to the president; interim vice president Northridge Campus, director of continuing education, campus manager of the Ridgeview, Rutherford and Northridge campuses; division chair in allied health sciences; and department chair of the vocational nursing program.

Goodall received her bachelor's degree in nursing from Prairie View A & M University, a master’s of science  in nursing from Texas Woman's University, and a doctorate in educational administration from the University of Texas at Austin. She is a graduate of the Leadership Texas Program.

She is active in educational, community and civic organizations, having served as president of the Rotary Club of East Austin, chair of the Texas Common Course Numbering System, past president of the Texas Community College Instructional Administrators, and charter member and director of the Texas Alliance of Black School Educators, with membership in many other professional associations and organizations.

Goodall will begin her official duties with LSCS in August.

Lone Star College System consists of five colleges, including LSC-CyFair, LSC-Kingwood, LSC-Montgomery, LSC-North Harris, and LSC-Tomball, six centers and LSC-University Center.
