Course Proposal Process

Please complete and return the Course Proposal. The proposal will be reviewed by the Curriculum Committee at its next meeting, and you will be notified of the decision to accept or reject the class.(Note: The Curriculum Committee meets once a month)

If approved, details regarding special requests for class dates and room requirements will be discussed with instructor. While all attempts to accommodate the instructor will be made, there is no guarantee that the first choice of dates will be possible. If the instructor is unable to teach on the alternative date, they will have the option not to teach during that semester, but have their “approved” class moved to the next semester.

After approval and discussion, the course will be entered in the computer and assigned a Registration number.

Instructors will be asked to attend an “In-Service” training and briefing during the semester the course is taught. (Note: beginning 2008, this briefing will be required of all the instructors)

Class Packets for all classes will be completed and must be picked up and from the CE office by the Instructor or Class Coordinator. All rosters and surveys must be returned to the CE office after the last class session within 5 days for processing.*

ALL Classes are limited to 150 -175 total classes each semester. Some popular classes might be offered both Spring and Fall. Courses include lectures (1-2 hours), hands –on training (3 hour sessions); some classes meet for a number of weeks (not to exceed 10 weeks). Some lectures might be part of a lecture series on a specific topic approved by the Curriculum Committee.
