An Interview With Terry Rich

Terry Rich

Terry Ann Rich was born in Demoine, Iowa. When she was 15 years old, her family moved to Oklahoma where they lived on a ranch. At the age of 30 she moved to a small town called Magnolia, in Texas. She went to Seminole Community College, East Central University, and Oklahoma University. She received a bachelor’s degree in Engineering and her master’s degree in Human Resources, which includes counseling and criminal justice.

Mrs. Rich has been working as an International Coordinator for Montgomery College for two years. She likes her job because of the many wonderful people she works with. Some of the challenges in her job are time mnagement and communicating with the government concerning student status. She chose this profession because she loves to travel. She has had so many memorable moments in her job. Once she was invited to a student’s scholarship acceptance ceremony at the University of Houston. Her responsibilities are: registering students, preparing the I-20 forms, helping with change of status, giving permission for students to work on campus and helping international students with personal issues. She expects to take on additional duties in the future. She says that this job has improved and broadened her knowledge of global awareness. Some of the benefits she enjoys are traveling and meeting new people
