This summer, I am so excited to bring you the first "Summer of Saturdays" series (click here) available to adult learners. This series of classes allows you to still enjoy your summer activities but perhaps add some creativity to your day-to-day routine. For under $150, you could learn Word 2007, Excel 2007, Digital Photography and Drawing. For those that can't take classes on Saturday, I do have two Friday classes available: Scrapbooking 101 and Creative Ceramics. All classes are designed to be fun while you learn. Seniors will be offered a 20% discount. So why not spend some time this summer learning something new?

73947 Digital Photography SATURDAY 5/31-6/28 9am-11am $32 B108
Designed to assist the beginning digital photographer, this hands-on class addresses camera controls, sharpness, exposure, light and color, flash, resolution and composition. Transfer photos from the camera to the computer and discover the art of digital image file management and then explore the process of internet and e-mail use. Covering the basics for the novice, the course can help advance skills for the digital photographer ready to discover more applications such as cropping and basic photo manipulation. Student must have digital camera.
73182 Drawing I and II SATURDAY 5/31-6/28 11am-1pm $32 B103
Study space and form through the use of perspective, line and value in an introductory course in freehand drawing. This course expands upon the concepts introduced in Beginning Drawing and stresses the conceptual, expressive and anatomical aspects of drawing. In addition to tuition, a $35 supply fee (per student) will need to be paid to the instructor on the first day of class.
74350 Visually Learn Word 2007 SATURDAY 5/31-6/28 1pm-2:30pm $24.50 B108
This course will cover the much-anticipated new features of Word 2007 and the Word 2007 facelift. Ideal for users migrating from older versions of Word who want to get up to speed on the changes in the application. Topics to be covered are: Managing documents, editing and formatting text, printing documents, creating tables and charts, and working with graphics. This course will use the textbook, Teach Yourself VISUALLY Word 2007 by Elaine Marmel, ISBN: 978-0-470-04593-0 which is filled with clear, step-by-step screen shots that show readers how to tackle dozens of Word tasks. Students will need to purchase textbook before the first day of class.
74347 Visually Learn Excel 2007 SATURDAY 5/31-6/28 3pm-4:30pm $24.50 B108
This course will cover the features of Excel 2007 and the Excel 2007 facelift. Ideal for users migrating from older versions of Excel who want to get up to speed on the changes in the application. 74339 Scrapbooking 101: How to Begin FRIDAY 5/30-6/20 9am-11am $26 B111
Scrapbooking is the perfect way for you to save all of your most important memories. That is why scrapbooking is such a popular hobby these days. People get to save all of their pictures and make them into a work of art, a memory book that can last for generations. This course will provide the student a general overview of what scrapbooking is and how to get started. Basic techniques of picture care, page layout, and embellishment will be taught. The importance of journaling will also be discussed. A supply fee of $35 will need to be paid to instructor on first day of class.
73549 Creative Ceramics FRIDAY 5/30-6/20 11am-2pm $38 D102
Introduction to working with pre-cast ceramic green ware. Cleaning, sanding, pre or post-fired painting and glazing techniques will be explored. This is a fun class for someone with no experience working with ceramics. In addition to tuition, a $45 supply fee (per student) will need to be paid to the instructor on the first day of class.
