Linked Courses
Linked to College Credit Courses
Courses in which both semester credit hour and continuing education students are enrolled are linked: topics include English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), American Sign Language, Chinese, Creative Writing, French, Italian, Japanese, Spanish, & Technical Communications. Courses run during the semester and summer; linked courses have prerequisites, and require that you do the same work, including testing, as credit students. These courses are a great opportunity to learn from our highly qualified college professors and adjuncts.
Registration procedures:
- Credit courses offer limited enrollment to Continuing Education students
- Tuition is the same as credit class, although CE students do not pay out-of-district tuition; courses may have lecture and lab
- Bring an unofficial transcript at time of registration to show prerequisites have been met
- The first day of class, students receive a course syllabus; completing all course assignments, including tests, are required; however, Continuing Education students are awarded CEUs.
- One CEU is equal to 10 contact hours of successful completion of the requirements of a Continuing Education course. CEUs are recognized internationally as a measure of professional education and training.
- Certificate for successful completers are provided. The grade (S = Satisfactory or N = Not Completed) will be posted on the transcript; however, it does not affect college credit academic standing.
- Some courses are only every semester and others are offered in sequence. For example, French I in the fall; French II in the spring.
- Linked courses enrollments are closed after the second meeting day. No refunds are provided after the first day of class regardless of the reason for non-attendance.
- Most courses require purchase of a book; using the course number, search the link below to find the book title and cost.
