Lone Star College-Montgomery offers two paths to a career in one of the most exciting, diverse and leading-edge industries--biotechnology. The biotechnology program at LSC-Montgomery was the first in Texas and the only one to be rated “Exemplary” by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.
With a two-year associate's degree in biotechnology, students will gain experience both in classroom and laboratory settings, as well as through a capstone internship with an area biomedical company. Students can go directly into the workforce, or continue toward a bachelor's degree through articulated programs at local universities.
Students who already have a degree in biological or chemical sciences can pursue an advanced technical certificate (ATC) in biotechnology. The classes in this one-year program focus on the specific skills that help graduates obtain immediate employment in the biotechnology field.
