The open house is a chance to learn about the new and recurring classes being offered during ALL’s fall 2008 semester, as well as to register for classes, socialize with other members, and meet the instructors. Additionally, the ALL instructor of the year for LSC-Montgomery will be announced.

Membership in the college's nine-year-old ALL program continues to grow, as more and more active, older adults see the benefits of keeping "plugged in" to the academic, learning environment. ALL offers a variety of learning opportunities in areas such as art, computer technology, personal growth, languages, history, travel and more, boasting a membership of nearly 1,000 individuals.

Lectures, seminars and discussions make up bulk of ALL’s curriculum. There are no educational requirements, tests or textbooks. The classes are informal and informational and are geared to the 50-plus retired or semi-retired individual. New this semester is a political affairs series that includes timely talks regarding the upcoming elections, the impact of the media on the elections and the generational differences that bring out the vote.

A special series of lectures entitled “The Meaning of Simplicity” will help guide members to learn to live more with less and to help individuals find a balance in their life during fast-paced times.
The popular medical series is in collaboration with Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Hospital and Sadler Clinic. It will be led by medical practitioners and cover a variety of topics including diabetes, bariatric surgery, sleep disorders and osteoporosis.  Panel discussions by healthcare practitioners will provide timely information regarding hospice care, rehabilitation and help guide individuals through the maze of services offered after hospitalization.

A small annual (September 1-August 31) membership fee of just $35 entitles participants to take ALL courses free of charge or at a minimal rate.
