Transfer to Lone Star College-Montgomery

Whether you're a new, transfer, or transient student, the admissions process is the same for everyone. Students will need to complete the admissions application either online or by visiting a Student Services office at your closest campus location. Lone Star College System accepts admissions application year round and there are no fees associated with applying for admission to our colleges.

If you have earned credits from another college or university, you will need to follow certain steps before being able to register for classes at Lone Star College System.

	Request an Official Transcript Request an official transcript from all colleges or universities that you have previously attended. Have your college or universities mail your transcript to the Lone Star College System campus you plan on attending. >> more
	Apply for Admission While you're waiting for your transcript to arrive, complete the Lone Star College System admissions application. If you have a student copy of your transcript or grade reports, please bring them with you when you visit the advising staff. This will assist the academic advisors in determining if you have met the pre-requisites for the courses you are trying to register for. >> more
	Complete Evaluations & Assessments Unless you meet certain exemptions, you will need to submit placement test scores such as ACT, SAT, TAKS, THEA,ASSET, ACCUPLACER, or COMPASS scores. If you do not have placement tests, you may be required to complete assessment testing. >> more
	Meet with an Advisor When transferring courses between colleges and universities, it is important for students to know which classes will transfer into their particular degree program. Academic advisors have resources and transfer tools & tips available to assist you in determining which courses will transfer to your college or university. >> more
	Register for Class Once you have been advised and cleared to register, start searching for courses using Easy Search or My Records. These online options will only show you open classes that you may register for. You may register for classes online, via phone, or in person with a Student Services staff member. >> more
