Professional:
Daniel Buchanan recently made his symphonic debut singing
Handel's Messiah with the Southwest Florida Symphony.  He has been a
soloist with the Bach Society of Houston (St. Matthew Passion, St.
John Passion
), the Mercury Baroque Ensemble, the Houston Choral
Society (H.M.S. Pinafore), and with the Houston Chamber Choir as the
tenor soloist in a semi-staged performance of Bach's St. John Passion.

He has also sung with the Santa Fe Desert Chorale.  Other concert
performances include Mendelssohn's St. Paul in Chicago, the Mozart
Requiem, and Bach's Mass in B Minor.

Mr. Buchanan is a founding member and Director of Artistic Operations
for OPERA VISTA, a contemporary opera company based in Houston, Texas.
 He recently performed the role of Hilarion in Princess Ida with the
Gilbert and Sullivan Society of Houston.  Opera roles include the
title role in Albert Herring, Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni, and
Ferrando in Così fan tutte. He has also sung the role of Testo in
Monteverdi's Il Combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda.

A graduate of the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University, he
received further training at the Seagle Music Colony.  Mr. Buchanan
also attended the Conservatory of Music at Wheaton College, where he
recently returned to serve as Guest Lecturer of Voice and Opera, and
to perform the Monteverdi Vespers and Three Sisters Who Are Not
Sisters (Rorem).
  He currently teaches voice at
Lone Star College–Montgomery in Conroe, Texas.

Upcoming projects include a European tour with the Grammy-nominated
ensemble Conspirare.  In spring 2007, look for his debut CD release,
Devotion, a recording of plainchant and original song.  Check out
